THIS IS THE STUFF - MY SONG FOR SURE!!!!!

Back in the late summer of 2011 as I was on my way to work, I had my station set to WFRN – as usual and became STUNNED as I was hearing MY LIFE on the radio!!! It was a song by Francesca Battistelli – “This Is The Stuff”! Shortly before I hearing that song, I was beginning to question ‘my purpose’…. Let me explain…
On July 6, 2005 - I was driving with my daughter out in the country. A young man blew a stop sign and plowed into the front left quadrant of our small Honda Civic. Two ambulances were called to the scene - one for my daughter and the driver of the truck that hit us, and another for the dead body - ME!! I believe God sent an angel to protect my daughter who was seated directly behind me. She suffered only scratches in the accident – as well of course as the fear of possibly losing a mother at such a young age, as well as have her young life put in turmoil with hospital visits, questions of a home, etc.
The EMT’s thought I was dead. But one of them, following the proper ‘simple steps’, put my head in the ‘upright, neutral position’ and apparently I attempted to take a breath. They called for more help to get me out of the car, jaws of life was needed as well as more man-power.
I was extricated, and life lined to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN, where I stayed for 6 1/2 weeks. I suffered severe traumatic brain injury, a broken C1 vertebrae, broken occipital condyle, broken right collar bone, compression fracture at T6 and suffered a stroke while I was in a coma. The doctors gave my family no hope for my survival but did say that IF I did, I would most likely spend the rest of my life in a nursing home type facility. Prayers began almost immediately!
I lay for a week in a coma, waking up on my daughters’ birthday, which as she shares with people, was her birthday wish. The hospital gave my mother some facilities to check out to have me admitted for 'pre-rehab' until I was well enough to continue therapy. When my mother checked the facilities out, they were mere nursing home facilities. She immediately pleaded to God to heal me. The very next week, I was moved to the rehab wing of the hospital where therapy began. They were all stunned!

After a six and a half week stay in the hospital, I was released to live with my parents while continuing therapy. Shortly thereafter, I was sent to a facility in Carbondale, IL for brain injury rehabilitation. When I arrived, the professionals anticipated that I would be there anywhere from 9 to 15 months.
Much to their amazement, only two months and two days later, I was released to return home. I attempted to gain employment, and began taking college courses towards the medical profession. Not having any desire to be in the health field, I didn't know what to go into, so I started taking classes for medical assistant as well as a course in phlebotomy. Not long after that, I landed a part time job at the hospital in the town my daughter was living with her father. I was able to rent from my ex-father-n-law, a small house for my daughter and myself to live.
I was baptized on January of 2006 and completely changed my life for the better! I no longer smoke, I do not drink and I no longer live as a wild woman. My daughter and I both attend services weekly at our local church as we are both so very grateful to God for all He has done for us and we share our story as often as possible!
So I OBVIOUSLY have much to be thankful for!! Though I had broken c1 and suffered tremendous brain injury, (usually an automatic death sentence), I have NO paralysis, and outside of occasional forgetfulness, no other ramifications from the accident at all! I have every belief this is ONLY because of the grace of the Almighty God!
So on this particular evening, I had only the week prior got my first ticket since the accident. Then it seemed like everyday, I couldn’t find my phone or my keys… I was just about at the lowest as far as feeling ‘inadequate’! Then I heard your song on the radio!!! I burst into tears!!! It was as though you had written that song just for me!!!
Immediately when I got to work, I sent an email to my family sharing that someone had written a song about me, and shared the lyrics of the song with them! They all agreed!!!

So I wanted to write to say THANK YOU!!! Thank you for the constant reminder to me- each time I hear that song – instead of ‘having a pity party or getting angry - I should be looking at how God is using ‘the stuff’ EVERYDAY!!!
    I cannot thank you enough!!!
